Thanks to everyone who followed me over to the new server and to all new people. For the new people: I post mainly about matters relevant to communities of color, particularly Black folks. I post about abolition, what it is and why it’s needed. I post on African music and cultural events in the DC/NY corridor. I’m a lawyer and retired law prof. I do pay attention to notable trials. I don’t do free lifting for white folks who can look up things on the internet.

At the #FreeDC news conference a group of white protestors came with bullhorns to do their Trump message. And despite the fact we were holding a news conference, starting chanting with their bull horns about Trump instead of supporting our message. Yesterday, these "allies" were asked NOT to disrupt, and yet they did. The problem with some allies is that they cannot respect Black leadership. Don't be that kind of "ally."

I want to give a big shout out and thank you to @therealnews@mastodon.social who came out today and covered #FreeDC's news conference downtown across from the White House. Major media will probably not cover it but the residents of DC will not stand idly by and be reduced to an open air prison or a colony. We had a good turn out today and we will continue to fight against the Trump authoritarian regime. Support your independent press. Support a Free DC.
