Omg! Riven 2024 remake is better than the original!
Riven2024 is how I remember Riven—my imagination extrapolating the gaps.
It is a passion project, a labor of love. The remake gives birth to QoL enhancements without taking anything away.
I actually bought the remake even tho i have the original on disk.

Original: Gehn's 233 Age is used as a nexus between the 5 Golden domes ('fast travel' points). You must complete the puzzle on each one in order to reveal a linking book to 233.
Remake: Gehn took advantage of more tears in Riven's spacetime fabric and covered them with the Golden domes. You go reveal the tear by flipping open the dome and then can traverse between the 5 islands in a small non-Euclidean space.
IMO the remake's rewrite is better. Not only do you not have to do a needless puzzle 5 times (for the sake of just having more puzzles) but this make more sense canon-wise since Gehn was unable to make more books. He TRIED but the only 2 books* he could write were the ones to Age 233 and the link back to Riven; both powered by excessive energy due to Gehn being a shit author of The Art.
(*3 if you include Tay, but that was failed by Gehn and fixed by Catherine. Who, ironically, was once a desciple of Gehn. Lol)
