Confusion. The Gray Dogwood is putting forth a few new flower clusters (spring in August). The Hydrangea did the same. In a few weeks, I expect I'll see a few Lilac blossoms as well.

Seen from above, a round cluster of delicate white flowers (4 petals on each on flower). The dark green leaves below the flowers are summer leaves with some damage and imperfections.
