Kinda guessing here... but this seems to be the dark form female Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly. Originally thought it was Spicebush but markings don't seem quite right, nor for Black Swallowtail. Those are the three main suspects in this area of Michigan...

Likely a female Dark form Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly. It is perched on Teasel and feeding. Dark wings with white and orange spots along its outer edges.
