@nixCraft@mastodon.social I get where he is coming from - and ranty or not, he is doing the right thing.
Sometimes it takes a bit of pushing to get someone back on track, or to force a decision on what is really important to them.
The kernel is mission critical, and adding technical debt with poorly named and placed helper functions is a classic thin edge of the wedge.
If a company is supporting open source development by allowing developers to work on it - then it's nice if the regular work schedule can accommodate this vital contribution.
The rant is against technical quality and an impossibly late merge request - no time for feedback or fixes.
I would be pissed off too :-)
