I am worried when so many camping videos say that you can cook your meal (often meaning just boil water for a freeze-dried meal) in the vestibule of your tent.

Having gas (or spirit, or petrol) flames in the immediate vicinity of presumably highly flammable nylon or polyester tent fabric, seriously? Nope, I will never do that.

If it is raining heavily, well, I will just manage without warm food then. If one is hungry enough, even just cold-soaking a freeze-dried meal works, I hope.

@tml@mementomori.social I’m always a bit surprised at all this cooking malarky. Bring some bread, cheese, and salami and you have yourself a perfectly fine dinner.

@partim@social.tchncs.de You are not like this guy then https://youtu.be/AnlX0us0NXk?t=20m , and yes, he cooks in the vestibule, but on a groundsheet even, and with the door closed, oh my.
