Nanny made her famous gumbo (and only I the secret of why it's famous..because I'm the favorite grandchild). But Gumbo reminds us that..there is nothing truly #American. It's a delicious stew with an #African name, make in the #French style, with #Native American ingredients and spiced with #Spanish flavoring. Nothing in our country is "American". We're all #immigrants and that is so tasty.
