Great post on the New Atheism movement, and how they’re not really that different than the illiberal, antiscientific Right. This review of the book “The War on Science” is rightfully scathing.
Yet another reminder that even previously-progressive atheists can fall deeply into illiberal, conspiracy-ridden, and bigoted thought-traps.

I have to believe that Chris Hitch and Dan Dennett have got to be glad they're dead, so they don't have to endure the absolute bullshit that morons like Dawkins, Krauss, have tried to drag Atheism down to.
They have failed, because if there was any such thing as an "Atheist Community", the majority don't G a F what such grifters have to say about anything.
"None" is still the fastest growing "Religious Identifier" there is.
Sam Harris brought up the "We don't have a word for people who don't believe in leprechauns" angle a long time ago... But he still concedes that in a world beset by belief in mythology, a word that says "I do not" is very useful.
