Saw someone complain about children having to see a drug user on Caltrain, and that they asked Caltrain staff to enforce a fare check so as to kick them out. Later in the thread he says the person probably needed medical attention. Was mad that staff refused the fare check.

Bunch of good parents said they would be appalled for their children to see a person trying to enforce a fare check on a person who needs medical assistance, and being cruel, more than whatever else they may have been up to.

Honestly feels like living here is about living amongst actual ghouls. Make no mistake, the ghouls are the people who hate the homeless, who hate the addicts, who want to enforce β€˜safety’ and β€˜think of the children’ but who will never lift a finger to help a single person.

Society often encourages people to be cruel to anyone who even sets a toe outside the norm. The public is still exceptionally biased against unhoused folks and those with addictions.

It's almost like it's easier to be a jerk than a helper.
