#CurrentlyReading Yesterday I began the book Disposable, by Sarah Jones. It focuses on how the #COVID pandemic laid bare the inequality in America, and how those lower in the pecking order are viewed as disposable. Unfortunately, it is revving up my anger at how so many never took the pandemic seriously, or thought personal freedom was more important, or, in my mind worst of all, thinking people should be willing to sacrifice themselves for the sake of the economy. COVID is never going away, but in society today it’s now a deep, distant memory. And what if, God forbid, we find ourselves looking at another pandemic? With the current folks in charge, I could totally see them not acknowledging that a pandemic even exists. Oh whatever, serenity prayer, serenity prayer, serenity prayer…
