Like, I'm not even exaggerating a little bit here. This has happened to multiple people I know personally. In small-town, rural Washington, and right here in Seattle.
These people were standing for elections as progressive members of the Democratic Party. Local chuds threatened to murder them, escalating to physical intimidation outside their homes.
The Democratic Party offered to get them Ring cameras lmao.

@sidereal@kolektiva.social yep, and I have had people yell death threats and throw things at me for daring to bike on city streets in San Francisco. Like literally on my own street a couple blocks from my house.
