It's obviously wrong to suggest #Ukraine must surrender its territory to Russia, rewarding their aggression and legitimising military conquest and annexation, but I'd suggest land for peace would be a vastly different proposition if NATO membership were assured. Shifting a border has proven they'll invade across borders would be intolerable on its own.

I am curious to see what comes out of this though. Is the idea that Ukraine gets Crimea back?

Land for peace is a legitimate way to pursue peace and has worked numerous times. Not with Putin's Russia though. It's simply and plainly not viable with a country that doesn't recognise the legitimacy, independence, and right to self-determination of states that aren't their own.
