On the way to Split, walking the narrow streets of Trogir is quite an experience.

Fortunately, I am in the shade most of the time, so my sunburns don't get any worse...

An extremely narrow medieval street, surrounded by 2-3 stories stone buildings.

Laundry can be seen hanging from a clothes line. Most windows are shuttered.

At the very top, a very narrow sliver of blue sky can be seen.

Croatia, day 7: Split.

Interesting contrast between the old city, with its medieval streets and Roman buildings and the rest of the town, which is more of a very utilitarian socialist style.

And Saint Grgur of Nin is going to excommunicate your butt to Hvar and back if you make jokes about his name!

The statue is in dark bronze and represents a bearded man dressed in robes, holding a book in his left hand, his right hand raised to the sky, with a finger pointing up. He is looking at the book.

His expression is very stern and he looks like he is going to punish someone or cast divine retributions on unbelievers. This is in contrast with the funny hat on his head, which has a small episcopalian cross on top.
