808 is #Hawaii 's area code on the telephone, so August 8 was a fun celebration each year... until 2023, when the Lahaina fire happened on August 8. "808 Day" is far more somber now, and the wildfire continues to have tragic consequences. Show compassion and aloha to people in pain, and be sure to ask for compassion and aloha when you need it. And never forget that everyone needs it.
