@benroyce@mastodon.social "This mountain rises like this other mountain above the Serengeti" is still a godawful simile. Kilimanjaro does not rise like Olympus or Fuji above the Serengeti, it rises like freaking Kilimanjaro above the Serengeti.

"Rises like a stormcloud" would have been a hundred times better a simile. And it even scans.
