When I tell people I play games they usually look at me funny, but interactive storytelling is freaking great. If you've ever wanted to try playing a game and you're worried about the mechanics, you can usually play in story mode or easy difficulty and have a great time exploring the story without being frustrated.

@alisynthesis@io.waxandleather.com It was interesting, but I kinda feel I don't have to play Mass Effect now because I know what happens :D
It is interesting to see how it's all evolved though - I suppose I am guilty of inventing the end-game in the multi-user #MUD #games of the 70s and 80s, where traditionally, once you made Wizard, your game basically ended. By injecting human DMs to make sure there was always politics, and decisions, that changed - But that relied on humans as the story creators, because we'd stretched mobile (NPC) behaviour well beyond what it was ever created to do.
Is there an interesting one to play that doesn't take TOO much time?
I couldn't even finish MYST - Though I did spend 2 years learning Colossal Cave inside out and I can spend far too many days playing Universal Paperclips.
