In fact, it was counterproductive to Langley's efforts as they prefered to have existing stable regimes buttered up with US military aid.
I mean, look at #Morocco's illegal sand wall (with US military tech to detect intruders and antipersonnel landmines from the #USA) in it's occupied #WesternSahara and #Egypt's military.

He didn't admit to helping but when the CIA sees a revolution as potentially helpful, they tend to get involved.
