So they changed the security screening situation at AUS and I can only assume it’s to make people who didn’t pony up for TSA Pre and CLEAR hate their lives.

(I have CLEAR but not TSA Pre. Really I should just get both.)

Right from when it was launched, TSA Pre was aimed at producing additional revenue for the TSA budget. They deliberately took staff away from the regular screening.
