I like modal editors, but I can't help feeling like Helix is the DVORAK to neovim's QWERTY: possibly better, but not better enough to be worth relearning how to do things.
And it's not like my vim usage is sophisticated enough that I couldn't switch. I know fewer than 50 vi commands because I'm terrible at remembering commands, which is why I switched to vi in the first place.
(Seriously, I can't remember how to use visual mode or macros without looking it up. Give me time, it's only been about 30 years.)

I had a personal social media project I was working on, but a few years ago I came to the same conclusion: that the world needed another social media platform like it needed airborne Ebola. I quietly abandoned the project.
Any lingering hope I had that social media could be fixed has been comprehensively demolished by LLMs. Itβs just a cancer at this point.
So why am I here? Well, this is the last platform Iβm still posting publicly on as I try to wean myself off social media entirely. Every now and again I encounter someone who acts like radiation therapy.

@alcinnz@floss.social Theyβre all terrible. Typically when a new one turns up and I wonder if I should try learning it, I read the intro and FAQ and some example code and see if I can make it through those without a combination of disbelief and horror. Usually I canβt.
