Hmm, have any countries start to think about an LA Olympics boycott yet? Will we be seeing a complete choreographed opening ceremony celebrating Dear Leader? Will they be renditioning and probing the gender of athletes at the events, or at the border?

Everyone should boycott, even Americans.

Imagine if there was an Olympics, and no one showed up.

And no one watched the TV coverage.

The ratings, something about advertisers finally buying a vowel.

Make it so. Proceed.

@SpaceLifeForm@infosec.exchange since ordinary TV sets don't have any means of reporting viewing, watch if you want. Nobody will know. Ratings are derived from 'people meter' data from households enrolled with Nielsen. @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org

@SpaceLifeForm@infosec.exchange Even on cable, your TV is a dumb display terminal. A stack of signals comes down the pipe and your TV can tune any of them, without any reporting of what it's doing. Only on internet based systems (eg Paramount+) can there be any stats compiled. @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org

It depends upon the cable system. If there is a receiver box involved, they definitely could track which channels your watch and when.
