I am actually getting really upset when I read folks say this design is somehow acceptable “because it's legible enough,” or “because you can just scroll a little bit to move the background out of the way,” or even “because you can just turn on Reduce Transparency in the Accessibility settings.”
Since when is it acceptable for a piece of navigation UI to require that you scroll stuff away behind it so that you can read it? Since when is it acceptable to ship a literal regression to millions of users with the false pretense that most of them will know how and where to find the Accessibility toggles to turn it off?
What in the actual heck.
Also, “It's legible enough” is such a low bar. Come on, have a little more respect for yourselves.

@nileane@nileane.fr Not meaning to refer back to something I wrote a couple weeks back but it’s this whole ‘good enough’ attitude that I just find more and more pervasive across many things today. Good enough is not good enough. Make it the best you can!
