This pair of CM Russell paintings hung in Bill Rance's Silver Dollar Saloon in Great Falls, Montana. Russell was known to frequent the saloon often. The Russell Museum suggests that these two painting are thematically linked as predator & prey & the need to maintain balance in the natural world that was being lost at the turn of the century.

I used to live in Great Falls in the 70’s and visited the small museum of Charles M. Russell. His sculptures were fantastic!
