So is 9pm too early to go to the grocery store tonight? I am the biggest moron. Yesterday, Sunday, I'm like, "I'm going to go to the store and get my shopping done." It was 4pm. When I got there, the parking lot was full. "Screw this, I'll just go Monday morning." When I arrived at 10am, again, the parking lot was full. The store is open 24hrs. I wonder if they'll be out of everything if I go at 9-10pm? I'd do 6am tomorrow--but that's like the middle of the night for me. I hate the holidays.
Sea-Tac is a very busy airport. This shot is from Vashon island with the Moon rising over the Seattle area. The line of planes cuing up into a landing pattern for Sea-Tac went on south as far as the eye could, and was nonstop.
This is "Oscar the Bird King" by Thomas Dambo on Vashon Island, Washington, USA. He's really cool! His eyes follow you as you move around. Oscar is the 125th troll built by Thomas Dambo.
Another shot of those old trucks lining the tailings pile at a stone quarry in Idaho. I couldn't figure out how to really photograph them, but there was well over a hundred. Some parts of the "wall" were cars of the same general vintage. (It was kind of a creepy place, Idaho being generally creepy anyway, so I didn't want to hang around there very long.)
This pair of CM Russell paintings hung in Bill Rance's Silver Dollar Saloon in Great Falls, Montana. Russell was known to frequent the saloon often. The Russell Museum suggests that these two painting are thematically linked as predator & prey & the need to maintain balance in the natural world that was being lost at the turn of the century.
