somebody said "arrogance is confidence on steroids" but my understanding is very different.
confidence comes from empowerment. it is the product of power and responsibility in balance. honouring that balance yields confidence.
arrogance comes from cowardice. it's the product of having more power than one can handle and not enough responsibility for which to use it. arrogance is for cowards who are too ashamed to admit it, too greedy to give away power, and too afraid to take responsibility.
