They are standing over a young woman (girl?) wearing a tartan-pattern blouse with a big floppy collar and loose sleeves, who is sitting in front of a bunch stereotypical old-school radio equipment, replete with knobs, dials, and meters. She is actively twiddling some knobs, facing the equipment and not really paying close attention to the older folks.

The seated girl says "I'll take a sincere-type ham to those squares any day! Now, please, don't jam my wave band!"

To which the woman replies "Really, dear... can't you at least TRY being like other girls?"
