i have spent the majority of my adult life and even some of my pre-adult life running spaces for people online and carving out a place i can call home, i have never found this as difficult and unrewarding as when i made a fediverse instance

i mean, i can't lie. i had some good times. running w.l was very fun for a while, we had a healthy community, great mix of people, and despite what certain people tell you, more people of color and people of various marginalized identities than i suspect was typical for a fediverse instance. the HOA of the fediverse couldn't stand that though. marginalized people having fun and building community? this cannot stand!
