Wings (1927) - The first ever winner of the Oscar for Best Picture, an excellent epic war/adventure/romance story set in the First World War

The Phantom of the Opera (1925) - Gothic horror film which began Universal's "monster" series, it sticks fairly close to Gaston Leroux's famous novel of the same name about the Paris Opera House in the 1880s
