Breaking Iran's parliament approved the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

Decision needs ratified by Iran's Security Council.

It would trap 20% of the world's oil supply and send a catastrophic shock through the global economy.

Includes a photo showing the location of the Strait of Hormuzbetween Iran to the north, and the point of the UAE, side-by-side Oman, to the south. It creates a narrowing of the Persian gulf before it becomes the Gulf of Oman, and the Arabian sea, which is the access to ocean for Pakistan, a major oil customer of Iran.
