All the premises (axioms?) of Liquid Glass design are weird and wrong.
Especially the basic premise of "content is more important than the user interface".
Not even going into how the moniker "content" devalues creative human workβthe real problem about this is that it's simply bullshit.
In human-computer interaction content and the user interface to interact with it are normally equally importantβwith the interaction elements becoming more important while an interaction is either imminent or taking place.
The most basic thing is to make buttons look like buttons and not change how they look like depending on what's behind them, as well as not make them move around so you can easily recognize, find and tap or click them.
Dear Apple-hating replyguys posting from the hip, when I say βmy 7-year old iPad Pro still works fine and I donβt see any reason to upgradeββthatβs actually the polar opposite of βplanned obsolescenceβ.
Thereβs a crisis in tech product innovation. From when I got into tech when I was maybe 8 or 9 in the late 80s to around 2010 or so there seemed to be something new and innovativeβsometimes even world-changingβout at least once a year.
Now my iPad Pro is 7 years old, and I have literally no idea why I would want to upgrade it.
I don't even know other than "faster but you probably won't notice it" what the current iPad Pro has over the one from 2018.
Fwiw 7 years is the span of time between these two Apple products:

So the anti-vaxx murderers in government are shutting down mRNA vaccine research in the US.
The biggest medical advance in decades, got the 2023 Nobel Prize, saved millions of lives.
Lots of in-development vaccines, among them for various cancers, AIDS and other things, cancelled.
Not only will this kill and maim untold numbers of peopleβit also takes leadership in science away from the US.
And for what? Buying the Republicans votes from a few unhinged people.
