How bad is Elon Musk's #Vegas Loop?

You walk thru a casino maze, then wait in the blazing sun in parking lots for infrequent Teslas, driven by humans, that follow tortuous routes on surface roads.

That's what "transportation disruption" looks like in real lifeβ€”if you're still gullible enough to fall for the hype.

I take a look at how my old hometown, K'emk'emelΓ‘y (aka #Vancouver), built on stolen land, is about to be changed for the better by the people dispossessed by railways and settlers.

So, chuck away the ol' boomer-era Chief Dan George tropes (as great as that man was!) It's time to make way for Indigenous Urbanism:

Until now, hyper-NIMBYism...

Over 120 years ago, some of the original inhabitants of #Vancouver were put on a barge by settlers + set adrift in English Bay.

Their village, which was called SenΜ“Γ‘αΈ΅w, was then burned down.

Today, 3 towers are rising at the site of that village.

The development, called SenΜ“Γ‘αΈ΅w, is being built...

The reviews are in, and the reviews are good!

My latest book, The Lost Supper: Searching for the Future of Food in the Flavors of the Past, is out.

I'm busy imagining it as a doc series. (Option, contact:

Here's a round-up of what the critics are saying:

Then there was that time I put everything in storage for a year and traveled from Spain to China to look at the impact cheap, fast travel has on our planet.

I started by walking the Camino de Santiago in the wrong directionβ€”from west to east.
