"You can't judge 'AI' without trying every new version!" I mean, yes I can? I understand how it works, what the outputs are, what it does to you as a user, who they're stealing from, what it does to the environment, who controls it, and who benefits from it. I don't need to use it myself to learn about any of this.
Put another way: I don't need to use heroin sold at a casino to know that these things are bad for me and society at large.
I banished the phrase "I don't want to tinker on my computer, I just want to get some stuff done!" from my vocabulary. I will probably spend years figuring out how it got in there in the first place.
Yes, I switched to #emacs a year ago. Why do you ask?
I think I need another one of those introductory posts, because, well, so, uh: I'm #ActuallyAutistic. I've known for a while now (and in a way all my life, just didn't have a name), but because I've had so many people doubt and question my own feelings and experiences over the years, I personally needed a diagnosis for myself before feeling confident enough to talk about it openly. That happened two weeks ago and I'm still all over the place with it, soooo...Hiiiii!
Okay, here goes: Hi. I'm new. I like what I'm seeing so far, so I might post more than I did the last few years on the bird site. Mostly working on my first long-form game now (a autobiographical visual novel sort of thing), so expect posts about weird C++ errors and "editing text", I guess.
