Sugar, Spite, & CaffeineOne year ago today I had my first consult appointment with the fabulous, the superlative, the inestimable voice coach @sbelikeswords@mastodon.social, talking about training my voice to sound feminine. And since then I've been doing weekly voice check-ins on #TransVoiceFriday.
This is a compilation of 37 samples over the course of the last year.
It's... kind of a journey.

Sugar, Spite, & CaffeineI have to keep reminding myself that, while I am very happy to be out as a trans woman today, I did spend a decade prior identifying as nonbinary and taking visceral satisfaction in making randos uncomfortable with my presentation.
After I came out as a woman, "Will I look weird?" was never a consideration for me, because I'd spent ten years looking gloriously weird in public.
So apologies to my trans sisters if I push too hard. I forget that "fuck 'em" isn't everybody's first principle.
