You need to internalize the idea that hypocrisy is not a meaningful accusation to the right. Of course they're hypocrites. That you are bound - by rules, standards, logic, human decency, some fundamental moral consistency, anything at all - and they are not? That is their conception of what power is, and why they seek it. So they can exercise power, without constraint, and you cannot.
That is the point.
Hypocrisy is the virtue-signaling of fascism.
If I have seen further than others, it is by standing on the shoulders of the other two guys in this trenchcoat.
Justice isn't revenge.
You can't solve problems you don't understand with software you don't understand.
It feels weird needing to repeat that.
There’s a significant psychological difference between those labels. Because the tags and their assigners are visible, one is felt to be an accusation, the other simply a janitorial function. The fact that it’s not a fire alarm makes pushing that button much easier, meaning we can find and address low grade toxicity - the small brush fires - early and easily. This psychological accessibility is critical for keeping our community safe and healthy.
As a community manager or leader the worst thing you tolerate is what your community becomes. The worst thing you walk past is who you are. And in open source communities the blast radius of that negligence is enormous; for every person you can see pushing back against toxicity there might be dozens, hundreds or thousands peeking in, seeing that this is how you and your project have decided to live, shaking their heads and silently moving on, knowing they have better options.

Soy sauce, brown sugar, slow roasted garlic and dijon mustard is now my favorite pork marinade. Equally generous portions of all of it, make it in the morning and let the meat soak in it a few hours on the day you want it for dinner.
Cook the meat slowly and indirectly until you get close to 130F, then get the char marks on; the sugar will burn fast, so don't throw it straight on the grill.
Get a good digital meat thermometer, they're necessary.
