Description of my profile and header pics, because I don't have room for it in my bio.
Profile picture: my name in Landsat; a satellite image of a frozen river in Canada that loosely resembles a K.
(if you want one, you can get it here: https://landsat.gsfc.nasa.gov/apps/YourNameInLandsat-main/index.html)
Header: view from the beach; a calm Atlantic Ocean and some dark rocks in the background, blue sky with some white translucent clouds (I took this one myself).
This is the right time to take a stand.
Meta, racism, white people duty. Long.
I know I'm nobody here. Nor I want to be anybody. But I need to say this.
These past few days I have been reading and not saying anything because I didn't want to add to the noise. But now I feel called out. I feel I have a duty.
I am a white person with strong convictions about what's right, and this must be said as many times as necessary, and by as many people as necessary.
When we as white people are called out as racists, even if, or especially when, we consider ourselves to be firmly situated against racism, either individually or collectively, the right thing for us to do is stop, listen, think, and act accordingly.
Admit they are right. Just give non-white people their due. Step aside. Shut up! For once. Reflect. For once.
This situation of permanent, constant, relentless, structural, normalized racism has lasted more than enough. Things need to change. And it's us, white people, who have to change them, because it's us who made them this unbearably wrong in the first place. No one else. Not "society". Not "history". Not "some other people". Not "rich people". Not "cis people". Us, all of us.
These oppressive and cruel structures are of our own doing.
It's time to tear them apart.
For good.
I keep thinking that a second account would help me post in a freer, more spontaneous and relaxed manner. More me.
There is no more me.
I should accept that my self-consciousness will go with me wherever I go.
It's been proven any number of times already.
The solution to "me-wanting-to-be-someone-else" lies elsewhere.
Redrafting my #Introduction after some months here.
Hi, I'm K: an essentially unsatisfied person who's always been looking (unsuccesfully) for a place to stay. I recently bought a flat so I might as well stay there, at least for a while.
I'm curious, engaging, and talkative.
I'm a feminist, anti-racist, queer, bi, aroace nonbinary white person in permanent deconstruction.
I like cats, cinema, science fiction, languages, reading, writing and learning. I earn my living by teaching audiovisual language and technology to young people in their twenties. Am I a teacher? Not sure.
My craziest dream is the end of genocide and the disappearance from the face of earth (and everywhere else) of all the people who profit from war and any form of other people's suffering.
What I want is equality for all, diversity everywhere, the end of capitalism and to be left alone.
I'm also a Bruce Springsteen fan, which I'm aware doesn't make sense at all, but among the best things of life, I guess, are our deep contradictions (more in store).
(I just edited this toot to complete some info, but didn't change much, just added some juice.)

Asking Fedi.
Could you help me find pieces of art about autism from the perspective of the autistic person? Ideally, made by autistic artists. Preferably short films but any other kind would be welcome too.
Anything helps! Boosts OK.
