No. There have been translations of German folk tales before, but mostly they have focused on singular works instead of trying to survey the entire body of published folk-lore like I do, and few of them bother with explanatory commentary.
I would love it if I became a trendsetter for an entire genre, though - there are plenty of other bodies of #folklore which have been collected in different languages and never been systematically made available in English to an international audience!

There is ample folkloric precedent for the rock-throwing abilities of #DnD giants.
In fact, the giants of D&D were toned down when compared to their folkloric counterparts, who regularly threw rocks at targets many miles distant - although their aim tended to suck, which is why Northern Germany has so many glacial erratic boulders scattered around the countryside.

Fiction based on the German folk tales I am translating - breathing new life into old stories.
Which is entirely appropriate, since most of what these old folk storytellers did was sharing new takes on older stories.
