It is the season for predictions for the new year. I did some for the csoh.org cloudsec community, and they were well received. Since they're too 🌶🌶️🌶🌶️🌶🌶️ for LinkedIn ;) this seems the better place for them.

They run from likely to ok 😂😂, probably not - but all of them have some source to them and a non-zero chance of happening. To be clear, I hope most of them don't come true...

- Ransomware incident with greater financial and operational impact than JLR (> £1.5B) - An agentic AI system causes a major incident without any human malicious intent – just agents displaying “catastrophic emergent misalignment” - Rise of “Euro Tech” on high demand for digital sovereignty/resilience (+ other non-🇺🇸🇮🇱🇨🇳 tech) - World outside 🇺🇸 adopts ISO standards and local or EU regulations for trust in technology services and AI, similar to CE , abandoning NIST, NVD, CISA, etc. - AI infrastructure providers pull back on data center commitments citing added costs, zoning problems, and local civic resistance – which conveniently eases financial market concerns while keeping bubble going - New AI company comes out of stealth and releases energy-efficient “world models”, rendering state-of-the-art GenAI models “obsolete” - Wiz/Google settle patent case with Orca out of court for $$$$$ - Orca loses its patent case, and the entire cloudsec industry adopts agentless side-scanning instantly - Google acquires a major cyber security leader (<cough> Palo Alto Networks </cough>) - Cybersec industry finally realizes Hypershield exists and Cisco is going to eat their lunch, adopts eBPF - First legislation implementing software service liability (likely 🇪🇺 as expansion of CRA – maybe 🇯🇵 or 🇬🇧) - Conflict between US and EU over digital services regulation escalates and results in technology bans – causing global economic collapse, revolutions and the collapse of nation states

Nou... hier maar mijn The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly van Ajax's openingswedstrijd tegen Telstar:

The Good

Veel meer creativiteit en voetbal kwaliteit. Combineren en kaatsen, slimme steekpassjes door de linies, en individuele akties die tot kansen leidden

The Bad

Afwerken van die kansen was om te huilen, zowel in de voorzetten en shoten op doel

The Ugly

Een verdediging die zich keer op keer liet verrassen, het zichzelf daardoor moeilijk maakten, en teveel hoekschoppen weggaven die ze dan ook weer niet goed verdedigden.

Hierdoor had Telstar uiteindelijk 18 kansen tegen Ajax 15....

2-0 - leuk hoor, en zeker vermakelijker dan Farioli-bal. Maar hier wordt je vierde-vijfde mee, en kom je zeker niet uit de Champions League groeps fase.
