worldpol shitpost.

every single metal gear solid game had a more realistic geopolitical premise than the current reality.

when someone seems possessed, you call an exorcist, to remove demons.

when they seem to be an empty husk, you call an endorcist, to put some demons back in.

remember, look out for your friends, help them maintain a healthy population of demons within.

telling someone that they’re falling in with the wrong crowd won’t do anyone any good if you don’t also put real effort into making sure they actually have a different group to hang out with and figure out why did they feel like they don’t have it in the first place. especially if you thought that you are that group.

this is not related to any current events - it’s a thought I’ve been going back to for over a year now and found a good way to put into words just now - and probably won’t be seen by any of the people I might be thinking of, I’m pretty sure none of them follow me anymore.

but perhaps it’ll be useful to someone else now, so there you have it.

β€œI’d like to end by telling you my hopes for the future. I hope that I’ll grow old, […] I hope that I’ll see younger people have opportunities that I did’t, and that I won’t be too jealous. […] I hope that this is not the cleverest or most compassionate that I’ll ever be, but that I’ll continue to change.”

this is easily the most important, meaningful and personally significant thing I have read in a very long time:

β€œThe best friends won’t ever be jealous of your success, they will celebrate with you. And your life will be richer for celebrating their victories too. Good friends will gently tell you when you’re being a dickhead, and remind you who you are when you’re getting lost. They’ll fight for you and comfort you and buy you cider and take the piss and drag you through the dark times when you’re ready to give it all up.”

I wish someone told me this, say, a year ago. maybe I’d have realized some things earlier. maybe I’d have reevaluated my opinion of someone before they had a chance to
prove this by counterexample.

I’m so grateful for the friends I have now.

not trans as in I wanna be cis, but trans as in doing real biohacking, the real mad scientist way - on myself, and enjoying every moment of it.
