when someone seems possessed, you call an exorcist, to remove demons.
when they seem to be an empty husk, you call an endorcist, to put some demons back in.
remember, look out for your friends, help them maintain a healthy population of demons within.

telling someone that theyβre falling in with the wrong crowd wonβt do anyone any good if you donβt also put real effort into making sure they actually have a different group to hang out with and figure out why did they feel like they donβt have it in the first place. especially if you thought that you are that group.
this is not related to any current events - itβs a thought Iβve been going back to for over a year now and found a good way to put into words just now - and probably wonβt be seen by any of the people I might be thinking of, Iβm pretty sure none of them follow me anymore.
but perhaps itβll be useful to someone else now, so there you have it.

βIβd like to end by telling you my hopes for the future. I hope that Iβll grow old, [β¦] I hope that Iβll see younger people have opportunities that I didβt, and that I wonβt be too jealous. [β¦] I hope that this is not the cleverest or most compassionate that Iβll ever be, but that Iβll continue to change.ββ Abigail Thorn, 2024-05-10, thoughts on her future after transitioning.
this is easily the most important, meaningful and personally significant thing I have read in a very long time:
βThe best friends wonβt ever be jealous of your success, they will celebrate with you. And your life will be richer for celebrating their victories too. Good friends will gently tell you when youβre being a dickhead, and remind you who you are when youβre getting lost. Theyβll fight for you and comfort you and buy you cider and take the piss and drag you through the dark times when youβre ready to give it all up.ββ by @girlonthenet@mastodon.social, https://www.girlonthenet.com/blog/40-things-ive-learned-by-40/
not trans as in I wanna be cis, but trans as in doing real biohacking, the real mad scientist way - on myself, and enjoying every moment of it.
