Home, Local, and Global (Federated) Timelines. Did those options disappear?

On the desktop version of Mastodon, there used to be (as of 2 days ago) a menu item, "Live Feeds," to choose which feed to browse. Now it's not there.

Here’s the response from the admin:

“We are actually planning to disable the "live feeds" functionality on both mastodon.social and mastodon.online as it generally provides a poor method of discovering good posts and often has a lot of spam. (It's a new feature so we're testing it at the moment on mastodon.online.)”

My comment would be: It’s interesting to say that removing something is a “new feature.”

I've started an ongoing project to record my original songs to share on Mastodon.

My Recording Equipment (pictured)
An Olympus LS-10 digital recorder and a Shure SM58 microphone.

My Instruments
An Art and Lutherie nylon-stringed guitar (cedar top, made in Canada). An Amahi Banjolele (Banjo-Ukulele).

Mastodon Version
Brevity is a virtue on the Fedi, so I'm recording the songs without instrumental breaks.

Confusion. The Gray Dogwood is putting forth a few new flower clusters (spring in August). The Hydrangea did the same. In a few weeks, I expect I'll see a few Lilac blossoms as well.

Seen from above, a round cluster of delicate white flowers (4 petals on each on flower). The dark green leaves below the flowers are summer leaves with some damage and imperfections.

Pearl Crescent; Burning Hearts

A small burnt-orange butterfly (Pearl Crescent) with many brown markings rests on a burning heart false sunflower. The butterfly is small, but large enough to cover the orange-red center zone of the flower. To the right, is another burning heart flower with its red and golden yellow petals.

#WorldLionDay reminds me of the mail slots on the side of the grand Post Office building in Valencia. (Photo: July 2010)
