RE: https://tech.lgbt/@JadedBlueEyes/115967791152135761

Cloudflare, who certainly has enough resources to
not pull this kind of bullshit, wastes peoples' time and disrespects people actually working on decentralized networking tech by acting like a pile of vibe coded slop running on top of their proprietary infrastructure is a legit implementation of a protocol.

Deeply insulting. Props to
@JadedBlueEyes@tech.lgbt for calling this out (and for actually doing real implementation work on Matrix tech).

Jade
@JadedBlueEyes@tech.lgbt

Cloudflare just published a vibe coded blog post claiming they implemented Matrix on cloudflare workers. They didn't, their post and README is AI generated and the code doesn't do any of the core parts of matrix that make it secure and interoperable. Instead it's littered with 'TODO: Check authorisation' and similar

uspol, homelessness, trump

If it turns out that Trump's Reichstag Fire really just amounts to "homeless people exist"... well I don't even know what to say.

What an embarassing time to look back on for history, assuming history continues to be a thing that exists

Ok hyprland does look cool. https://hypr.land/

I see it's packaged in Guix. Anyone running it?

Looks like some people are talking about it on the System Crafters forum:

EDIT: Looks like it's a super toxic community with a lot of transphobia. Guess not...

Is it ethical for trans people to leave the US?

So now for whether you should leave.

I'm still not going to tell you.

However, I'll note that we're at the point
now that most people I know will be pretty assertive: if you are trans and in Texas or Florida, "you need to get out of there". And many people I know are helping trans people leave those places for safer parts of the US.

The question is then, could the US as a whole get to the same point as Florida / Texas? Or worse?

What I will say is: at the moment that everyone comes to a conclusion that they should leave the US, I don't think if we look historically it will be very easy to do so, unless if you've been preparing in advance. Everyone's rushing to the exits, and you can't get out. Similar to when there was a run on toilet paper at the start of the pandemic. At that infliction point, people start panicking and it's impossible to take action for everyone.

Is it ethical for trans people to leave the US?

"Is it ethical to leave" is a wholly different question than "is it the right decision to leave". You'll note that I haven't made any assertion that anyone should leave in these threads. I have asked whether people are interested in leaving, I have asserted that it's ethical to leave, and I have pointed to resources for those who wish to leave.

If it's ethical to leave a state, it's ethical to leave a nation-state.

In my previous thread/poll, and other places, I've had a lot of assertions about whether it's ethical for trans people to leave the US https://social.coop/@cwebber/114994588934133932

Let me put it this way: is it ethical right now for trans people to relocate
within the US right now? Eg, is it ethical for trans people to leave Texas or Florida for a "safer" state.

Yes? Then I think it's ethical for people to choose to leave the US also.
