How will these smaller groups of happier people be monetized? This is a tough question for the billionaires. Happy people, the kind who eat sandwiches together, are boring. They don’t buy much. Their smartphones are six versions behind and have badly cracked screens. They fix bicycles, then they talk about fixing bicycles, then they show their friend, who just came over for no reason, how they fixed their bicycle, and their friend says, “Wow, good job,” and they make tea. That doesn’t seem like enough to build a town square on. Post by @Longwing@wandering.shop: Mastodon feels like the future the 1980s promised us. "Oh look, a post from my friend at hacker.space, and what a funny comment from some guy on gaysex.cloud, perhaps I should follow them, they seem witty." It feels like you could turn a corner and wind up in a tearoom filled with furries discussing existentialism. Across the street are anarchists arguing loudly with socialists about how best to stick it to the capitalists. Just down the way is a photographer who only takes pictures of bees. A welcome sign styled like a warning sign, instead of warning yellow it has a green header. It reads: WELCOME THIS PLACE IS A BLESSING AND PART OF A SYSTEM OF BLESSINGS CHERISH IT DEEPLY! SENDING THIS BLESSING WAS MEANINGFUL TO US. WE CONSIDERED OURSELVES A JOYFUL COMMUNITY. THIS PLACE IS A PLACE OF HONOR MANY CHERISHED DEEDS ARE CELEBRATED HERE EVERYTHING VALUED THRIVES HERE. WHAT IS HERE WAS NURTURING AND DELIGHTFUL TO US. THIS BLESSING IS A MESSAGE OF HOPE. THE HOPE IS IN A SPECIAL LOCATION IT RADIATES OUTWARD FROM A CENTER THE CENTER OF HOPE IS HERE OF A UNIQUE SHAPE AND SIZE AND BENEATH US. THE HOPE IS EVER-PRESENT, IN YOUR TIME, AS IT WAS IN OURS. @cadey@pony.social it’s possible to write C safely like it’s possible for observable size objects to quantum tunnel (teleport spontaneously): the math allows for it, but the likelihood is insanely low and gets lower the larger the thing is.

Current, unpaid-for projects I want to work on:
A tool to strip out nondeterminism from RPMs
A tool to run only CTest executables affected by a list of changed files
CMake scripting to automatically add all the necessary subpackages as dependencies of the devel subpackage
My headcanon version of git-grep
A requirements tracker website à la UCF, but free; or OpenSSF badge app, but customizable and can be self-hosted
