Love learning and posting about the #Fediverse - the people involved, the apps created.
I tinker with my #MastodonStarterKit, #HomeLab projects, and brush up on coding skills when I can.

I'm now able to pull back PieFed Feeds and display the results in my Gallery views.
It's a bit slow to show the feed name because I have to retrieve and filter every single feed on the server. There's no way to pull this information just by id or by name.
I might just be tired and overlooking something simple - a tomorrow problem.

From what Iβm seeing if you mute someone for a few hours or days on mastodon, the mute doesnβt work if youβre viewing a list. Right?

So whatβs the ActivityPub version of Pinterest? Looks like it will be in demand soon.

Healthcare and related research need open spaces to collaborate now more than ever before.
That's why I'm glad to see @nodebb@fosstodon.org building a community that caters to this need. A federated forum is the perfect template for this kind of discussion.

I have a Mastodon List of "Group Accounts", which makes for a good timeline of discussions around specific topics.
I have no idea how @phanpy@hachyderm.io would accomplish this, but it would be cool to have a type of "Catch Up" page where posts are organized by Group Account, sorted by date and thread.
I mean at that point you might as well just visit PieFed or NodeBB! But it would be nice. :)

This is the first time I used this product - oats overnight. Sure I had done this in a mason jar on my own plenty of times. But I would empty the container and eat it like porridge.
This productβ¦.asks you to just gulp down the oats like youβre drinking milk.
It is borderline gag reflex for me..like drinking chunky expired milk! I cannot.
"I can't meet this deadline."
"What can we do to meet the deadline?"
"I told you, I can't meet the deadline."
"What can we do to meet the deadline?"
"Unless you can clone me a few times and create a time stopping mechanism, I can't meet the deadline."
"What can we do to meet the deadline?"

Sigh...did not realize SendGrid was removing their free tier for 100 messages or less a day. Alright, what are some alternatives?
This is used to send out invites and administration emails from various apps I'm running.
I'm willing to pay a small amount but not freaking $20/mo to send out 5-10 emails a week.

If you have a chance, all the #Fedicon 2025 sessions so far are worth a watch. But if you're strapped for time, here are the two (so far) I found most interesting.
These aren't app demos! Rather they are discussions about bringing the concept of decentralized systems and owning your data to the masses.
@cyberlyra@hachyderm.io discusses this in relation to the project Tech Reclaimers, an outreach program @TheBulletin@social.techreclaimers.club

I worked in claims processing for over a decade. Itβs a massive problem, and even before AI was around, we looked for ways to identify patterns in the millions of incoming claims and route them appropriately for human review or automate the failure /approval process as accurately as possible.
I remember mentioning once in a meeting βwe could really do some good here, looking for patterns in regional health issue trends, or identifying procedures that seem to be most effective for a specific diagnosis.β
I was told thereβs no profit in that, and too much red tape. Didnβt take long for me to move on after that.
