So there are over 100 votes for Other and as there isn't that many comments it's impossible to tell what the actual favored Feed Readers are out there. Based on the available comments and doing a little math, the top ones listed are (in order from most to least, discounting ones only mentioned once or twice):
Feedbin
NetNewsWire
Feedly
Inoreader
The Old Reader
Reeder (Classic)
Newsblur

I will try keep a tally of the "other" selections and let people know once the poll ends. My personal favorite is actually Readwise Reader but it's a paid app.

Been trying to regain my ability to focus and I think its just clicked on why meditation works. You observe your thoughts and emotions and let them pass, and I guess this conditions you to do that with distractions in general so you stop acting on impulse and stay on track. Simple. This is an inside-out approach, while I guess removing distractions in your environment or putting up obstacles helps in an outside-in approach. No reason you can't do both, but meditation might be the simplest solution.

Anyone have experience using #Snac2 for a small activitypub instance? Currently I use #gotosocial which is great but I'm curious about other options. Running a second instance with a different domain for friends or a second account is appealing to me.

I was bored and went outside to touch some grass. I wanted to get some pictures before all the leaves fell.

I've been doing some soul searching lately. Sort of a side effect is I'm not on social media much anymore, that includes any of the big ones (even Bluesky). There's lots on my mind but I just haven't been feeling the need to share. Cue memes of people documenting every moment of their lives with a cellphone and insert here

Some days I wonder what it's really for. Nobody I know IRL is on Mastodon, so I only get to see non-personal posts from strangers typically about US politics or other matters I can't do anything about aside from the occasional boost. Being civically engaged I see in my mind as writing letters to your representative or organizing and attending protests. To be fair there is some really good analysis in the Fediverse which is interesting to read, but not actionable.

If I want to say something I feel it would fit better as a blog post somewhere more private (i.e. not federated). I've always liked the idea of the
indi-web or the smol [sic] web. I may end up retreating to something more retro like a blog. In fact I started writing in GeminiSpace with an alias.

I often wonder about the long term viability of creating posts on the Fediverse. It's easier to maintain and backup and update things when it's just flat static files in some directories on the computer. For this reason and others I don't know if it's worth it anymore.
