It's @logistics@social.eurybia.osx.ninja 1,000th post!
It's been 42 days since we started posting on the 21st of July.
Our cargo is now somewhere in the English Channel, between Rotterdam and Algeciras (the next port of call), and night is falling. It's late June/early July, so it will be "dark" for about four and a half hours (based on nautical twilight), and the cargo has been in transit for three days (the first two days of movie, via truck and train, are not full 24hr periods).

I've been doing some research, and the ship @logistics@social.eurybia.osx.ninja bot is on is the Elly Maersk (https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels/details/9321536), a 399m container vessel with an average sailing speed of 17.7 knots, or about 20.4 miles per hour. It will take over 3 days to make this leg of the journey (according to https://app.searoutes.com), a distance of 1,434 nautical miles.

Starting on Monday July the 21st, my silly little Mastodon bot project began.
LOGISTICS - @logistics@social.eurybia.osx.ninja
LOGISTICS is a 37 day long "movie" and, at 75,912,118 frames, would take 8,666 years (give or take a month) to post at a rate of one frame per hour. I'll be posting every 3,000th frame, or one frame every two minutes of the journey.

I think itβs time we revive the #notInMyName hashtag
I most certainly do not stand with Israel, Mr Starmer

edit itβs been pointed out to me that this picture is from October 2024, and as such potentially doesnβt reflect current diplomatic relations between the UK and Israel. Thanks to @elaine1helen@mstdn.social for the tip. My bad for not checking first.
I finally got to see the #aurora π
I canβt see the pinky/purple stuff because Iβm colourblind, but the green was incredible π€©
Edit: this is in the UK, East Midlands, just outside Loughborough
@Tattooed_Mummy@beige.party @neil@mastodon.neilzone.co.uk Iβve noticed recently that this is one of the things slowly pushing me from macOS/iOS to Linux for stuff I do at home.
I used to be quite happy to make a one-off payment on the Apple App Store for a piece of software that did the job I was looking for. But, as more and more software moves to a subscription basis, I look for FOSS alternatives on my Linux laptop. I donβt even have an Apple laptop at home any more because of this π€·ββοΈ
@Tattooed_Mummy@beige.party @neil@mastodon.neilzone.co.uk as I understand it, this is largely Appleβs fault, too, encouraging developers to move to subscription models for software on the App Store.

We have a winner!!!!
I didn't even need to listen to it, as soon as @Erased_Citizen@cupoftea.social mentioned it I knew.
All praise Jenny Lewis (and those other guys, too, I suppose) ππ»

Grrr, help me out ppl ( @wanye@mastodonapp.uk, looking at you, this is your bag) - I'm trying to remember a song, probably 80s or 90s, either a girl band or solo artist. I'm thinking Wilson Philips, Martika, Amy Grant or similar.
The chorus had the line "you've got to give a little love, take a little time(?)", something like that.
It's not Bette Midler or the Bay City Rollers
(This is for a #thePlaylistSuggestion)
I'm not linking to the original post (because Xwitter, but credit to "flyguy"), but would you look at this Thing Of Beautyβ’
