I finished the embroidery on my current project. This one will go to the first person who responded to my offer to send towels to our Mastodon friends.
The design was inspired by a previous towel recipient. I had mentioned that I might look for some spicy designs.
This is as spicy as I get I guess.
Next I have to figure out how to save the list of people interested in towels. I'm not sure how to save the toot and replies. Suggestions are welcome.

I promised my daughter that I would go with her to an appointment.
Summer wasn't happy about being left behind.
I told her that I would make it up to her.
I will.

Summer has been a very good girl.
She is taking care of both of us the past couple of days.
I know she misses our walks but my back issues are holding me back.
This morning I asked if she wanted to pick a new toy out of the new toy bin.
She was so excited she lost traction running upstairs to wait for me to open the lid. I am moving slow.
She plucked out this green croc.
We debated if it is an alligator or a crocodile. We decided that alligators have gotten a bad rap lately so she went with Chompy the Crocodile.
She will be totally entranced with the new addition to her menagerie for at least a week.

I have been participating in a breast cancer study for five years. A few months ago I was asked to be part of the group that will be followed for another five years. I didn't realize that the new phase of the study would require that I provide tons of additional very private information. Including a DNA test that would look for a genetic predisposition for many types of cancer. I let the kit sit for a couple of weeks because I think I was afraid to burden my family with knowledge of the results if not favorable.
I finally decided that because I am Wailaki I might be a unique participant that could be helpful. My trepidation was overcome by my hope the information gained could be beneficial to someone.
Yesterday the results arrived and I nervously opened the document to reveal no genetic link to 29 different cancers.
No guarantee but good.
Summer and I are doing our morning thing. She is soft, warm and full of love.
Good morning, Mastodon.

Our post office box is in a very red town. We have had the box since red and blue were just colors.
If I was going to get push back for wearing my mask this would be the most likely town.
I knew that I had a couple of packages to pick up so I ventured to the post office with a fresh mask in hand.
To my surprise and delight all four of the adults I encountered, at said post office, were masked. I almost wondered if I was hallucinating because of my back pain.
Instead it was just a miracle.
The town garden club maintains corner planters in the downtown area. I saw a succulent I liked.
I hope you like it, too.

Today my back is more comfortable if I am standing up instead of sitting down.
While I am standing I put together some muffins.
Full of carrots, apples, walnuts, raisins and coconut they are filling and tasty.
I used to pick up a morning glory muffin every day with coffee on my way to work.
These are smaller but otherwise the same.
A few of these will go in the little food pantry in our town and the rest will restock our freezer.

I'm not ready to try and walk very far yet. I did manage to follow Summer out to the backyard to throw the Frisbee.
She was pretty excited.
My favorite photos of her jumping are the ones where she is going away from me.
I love her form when she tucks her back feet.
I actually love most everything she does I guess.

Our dahlias are putting on a show.
Most of them do well in half barrels, as long as I keep them watered, and use soapy water to wash off any aphids that would take them over.
I wanted to get some photos because I will turn the best flowers into a bouquet for our next door neighbor who just came home from the hospital.
They will bring a nice spot of color for their house.

Summer and I are harvesting lettuce, green beans and summer squash this morning. She mostly patrols for gophers.
Soon our beets and corn will be ready.
I tell Summer everyday how much I appreciate her presence.
The deer would have decimated our garden before Summer.
For some reason they chose to avoid her.
It's ok with me.

Summer and I are getting back on track.
I know I must be feeling better because she carefully crawled up on my lap for some love.
She knows, somehow.
I am going to be so, so careful on hot days to stay hydrated. I'm sure that was the root of my muscles locking up.
I'm not totally recovered but good enough to get back to doing my share of what needs to be done.
Warm sweet Summer shows us love constantly so all we have to do is soak it up.
Sending Tuesday morning love your way, too.
