I'm a nerd for an internet company.
I used to do engineering strategy for automated orchestration frameworks for large scale networks, aiming for API layers to turn heterogeneous networks into something that looks roughly like what we think SDNs are supposed to be.
More recently, I’ve started hunting for new challenges as an SRE.
When I'm not working I'm flying airplanes. I have a Vans RV-6, I fly formation aeros in airshows, I'm instrument rated.
I live in Sydney's Inner West with a partner of 27 years and two pugs.

The chatbots are emitting streams of pseudorandom text, and the reader projects their own value judgements and life experiences onto the output to label it as intelligent conversation or sound advice or sexual harassment or encouragement of suicide.
Chatbots don’t have will or intent. As soon as you stop anthropomorphising them, you’ll be able to make wiser judgements about them.

Richard Marles repeated claims that Australia is not supplying weapons to Israel is transparent bullshit.
The claim relies on the assertion that "weapons" would be ammunition or guns or missiles, not wheel bearings for landing gear, or replacement spars for rudders or somesuch.
The reason the claim falls to pieces before it's finished coming out of his mouth is because THE ENTIRE F-35 IS A WEAPON. That's how the Air Force considers it, that's how the law considers it, and that's certainly how the people being exterminated by the bombs it drops consider it.
If you have an F-35 out of service because one of its bearings has disintegrated, and Australia supplies the replacement bearing, and then the F-35 launches on a mission to bomb Gaza and kills 35 babies, are there any semantic twists which enable Australia to satisfy itself that it hasn't been a crucial enabler of Israel's mission to incinerate Palestinian babies?
