If I am ever murdered by an ICE death squad:
1. I was not making any threatening motions, statements, gestures or behaviours toward any individual person or group of people.
2. I was acting entirely within my understanding of my constitutionally guaranteed rights and liberties.

4. My murderer acted without provocation.

Liberty or death.
There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. I know this already. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy.
Remember this, freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are already occurring constantly throughout the nation. There are whole armies, battalions, that have no idea they've already enlisted in the cause.
Remember that the frontier of the American Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.
And remember this: the MAGA need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort.
It breaks. It leaks.
Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear. Remember that. And know this; the day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of MAGA authority and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege.
Remember this: try.

Marjorie Taylor Greene has been an enemy to the left for years. Never once has she had her life, or the lives of her family threatened.

Honestly here is what I think about the idea that Gavin Newsome might redistrict California if Texas executes a gerrymandering power grab in the middle of an election cycle.
Do the nuclear option now. Don't wait. Do it now.
This kind of tit-for-tat threat doesn't work because there is no downside for Republicans. Either they steal the five seats in Texas now and get away with it, or they steal the five seats on Texas and California counters and they can turn the conversation on how California is stealing seats instead. Both outcomes are good for them.
So take their threat of stealing seats seriously and just pull the pin now. Bullies only understand the language of violence. Hit them hard enough to hurt, and then keep hitting them. Do New York next. Then Illinois. Then Washington and Pennsylvania and New Jersey and Ohio. Keep hitting and hitting and hitting until they understand who holds the power here - WE DO.
There are more of us than there are of them. MAKE them understand that.

We're all trying to find ways to deal with the redhats among us in the community. One simple way I'm handling it is, if I see one out in public, I put my arm around my husband's waist and I say loudly enough to be heard "Baby c'mon let's move away from the pedophiles."
The New Zealand Parliament maintains a list of banned words and phrases that are considered unparliamentary or in some way unbecoming of a representative, along with the year they were banned, and honestly? A bunch of these need to make a comeback in US politics.
