Playing some STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl (2007). I've owned this game for a very long time, but never got very far because of its difficulty. Having recently played some other challenging shooters like Rust, I thought I'd try again to compare - and this time I progressed a lot faster.
It's sort of an open-world FPS-RPG, except it seems you only progress loot-wise. You get quests to rescue/fight people/creatures and find items/stashes/bodies, which can be turned in for money and/or items.
Super Metroid has been a bit of a white whale for me. I've completed the two previous games in the series, both GBA Metroid games, and even the Wii ports of the first two Metroid Prime games - but not Super Metroid.
I think I just...missed the boat on Super Metroid due to not having owned an SNES. I then made the mistake of wanting to play it on portable devices, when I really need to be able to play with a mark-able map at hand.
I've decided to give it another go, on RetroArch+bsnes on PC.
I wonder if the modding scene has settled out since the #Skyrim HD thing... I need to make another attempt at that game, as I've never managed to finish it.
Edit: This thread now chronicles my 2025 Skyrim (meta-)adventures.
Having finished non-EE Baldur's Gate 1 via the Baldur's Gate Trilogy mod, I plan to dip my toes into BG2 at least enough to get reasonably happy with how my stuff transfers over.
I may then take a break from it, but this will serve as my Baldur's Gate 2 thread in any case.

With Dune 2000 completed, I'm not sure what to do next...
Got lots of stuff on the back burner, but none if it is jumping out at me:
- refactoring an old roguelike's codebase in hopes of eventually porting it to BearLibTerminal
- Wizardry 8
- Jedi Fallen Order
- Skyrim
Decided to try playing a little bit of single player Quake 2 again for some mindless FPS fun. It's not my favorite, but it's one of the few big ones of the Win9x era that I haven't yet completed.
Took a bit to get started because I decided to use a source port, which in turn required ripping (foobar2000) + converting (fre:ac) CD audio tracks to OGG.
