I'm a food writer, living in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada (Waterloo Region). I'm also a strategic communications consultant and I teach culinary communications.

My posts are fairly wide ranging, incl food, history, arts, culture, humanities, politics, people doing good. And cats.

If anyone needs a timeline cleanse, here's my friends' cat Winter, OUTRAGED that we're too busy (inside) at the Friends of Edna Staebler Christmas Bash to let her back inside. This is a few minutes after she was OUTRAGED that she was inside when there was all that snow to play in.

I’m not flighty about my love of honey and it’s one of those foods that’s not just local, but hyperlocal.

Waterloo-Wellington is abuzz in honey and honeybees. And for this week’s column, I visited a bee yard, chatted with a bee breeder and a rescuer and got some sweet cooking and drinks ideas about honey that’ll stick.
