MAGA can be so dumb. There are claims that Alex Pretti kicked and spit at an ICE vehicle 11 days earlier. MAGA thinks that vindicates ICE.

1: Even if he had done that the day he was shot, it still isn't grounds to shoot him.

2: The men who shot Pretti couldn't have known about this, so it's irrelevant.

3 (this one's the kicker): If ICE agents were aware of the prior infraction and killed him as a result, then his death is not just 2nd-degree murder but 1st-degree PREMEDITATED murder!

I post a lot about #COVID19 risks based on wastewater data. Periodically, someone pops into my thread to suggest wastewater surveillance isn't reliable due to different variants. A new STUDY finds that β€œestimates of selective advantage and reproduction numbers derived from wastewater maintain their advantages over traditional clinical data, even when there are differences in shedding among variants.”

"Why would I want to wear a mask on flights when the risk of infection is low?"

Why do you wear a seatbelt on flights when the risk of being injured in turbulence is low?

It's the same principle: A small precautionary act may not change anything in any given instance, but over a large enough number of flights, both masks and seatbelts save a significant amount of adverse events. So, why not wear a mask and protect your health?

I mean, duh.

"An outbreak of a respiratory disease, possibly Covid-19, is running rampant through the remote Florida immigration jail known as β€œAlligator Alcatraz”, according to the attorney of an infected detainee removed from the camp last week."

I've seen no studies that I know of how COVID survives in water. It's an interesting question, but I don't know.

Two weeks ago, a study found a correlation between #COVID19 and cancer mortality in people who'd had breast cancer. This week, a STUDY finds "a significantly higher thyroid cancer incidence was observed between the post-COVID and non-COVID groups."

Evidence is growing that COVID is oncogenic.

STUDY: "In the post-COVID-19 era, unvaccinated children tended to develop persistent symptoms after SARS-CoV-2 infection (post-COVID-19 symptoms), and post-COVID-19 fatigue levels were positively correlated with patient age, indicating that older children tended to have more severe fatigue levels after infection."

Hate the "post-COVID" label, but otherwise an interesting study on
#COVID19 in kids.

Crime in DC is at a 30-year low. It's not even in top 10 dangerous cities in US. If Trump wanted to send the military into the most dangerous cities in the US, they'd be Republican cities.

Throughout history, dictators use a false pretext like this to impose government control over local law enforcement as a prelude to a more national takeover. There's more danger here than we're willing to acknowledge.

The man who opened fire on the CDC and killed a police officer blamed the #COVID19 vaccine for making him depressed and suicidal. MANY studies that tell us it is infections, not the vaccine, that cause this:

"Depression, serious mental illness, general anxiety, PRSD, addiction, self-harm, and suicide were elevated during weeks 1 through 4 after COVID-19 diagnosis compared with before or without COVID-19. Incidence was lower in people who were vaccinated." 8/2024
